We know people who love their dinner special, but we just stopped in for lunch. I had the clubhouse with onion rings, nothing adventurous but oh so good. a real piece of chicken not just slices, great bacon; very filling, lasted me the rest of the day. View all feedback.

We were regulars for a weekend breakfast...food was good and service OK. Then last time, it took over an hour to receive our food. Others came and left while we waited? When it did come, mine was cold so I returned it. Then some toast came with a blob of butter on it that wasn't melting because it was so cold. Our friend, that paid, asked for a discount and was refused. I went and talked to the owner...he listened bu... View all feedback.

It was terrible.
I have been a loyal local customer for years now. Always promoting their great prices and small local feel. However, after recieving the worst customer service, i will not be returning. Two years ago we brought moose in for processing and heard a rumour they left it out too long and they gave us a mix of other meats. We didnt want to believe that and continued shopping here. Today i go in for their great pizza and ask the young deli girl what time it was made as it looked off. She said 12 pm; it was 6:30pm. I said excuse me, thats not good nor is that food safe. I shrugged and walked to the deli cooler while she approached another staff member to which i hear them speaking of me poorly and saying loudly that it is in a hot case - cant be more food safe. Disgusting and poor customer service. I said please do not speak of me while i'm standing here to which the older brunette approaches and says health inspectors have no issues with their practices. So I said well i guess i should call one. She referred me to the owner to which noded her head and looked at me as though i was lower. I guess you will not miss my business. If you're caring about your local customers, you would have ammeded the situation by apologizing and saying it was to be thrown out so no one gets sick.

A friend and I were looking for a lunch spot on the way home from a road trip and came across the Country Market. Oh well, may as well try it. It happened that they were serving breakfast and it was so good. Eggs cooked perfectly, real ham and homemade jam with the toast. We have been meaning to go back and try the dinner but have not yet gotten around to it. Will do so soon
We happened across the country market, looking for somewhere to have lunch but not a chain restaurant or burger joint. We originally drove past, the car park was busy and the front was dressed up for the fall and Halloween, we thought these people care, so we turned round and called in. Not sure what to expect, the restaurant is small and just off the shop floor. We had a warm welcome, service was quick. The menu included breakfast, lunch including burgers, sandwiches, soup and there was a pork dinner as a special. The burgers are home made so went for them, we were not disappointed. They came with either chips, salad or soup. One of us ordered chips and the other salad, so shared. The portions are good. Feeling the need for a sweetener, we shared a strawberry shortcake, omg, light and scrummy. All the staff were really nice and chatty. I would recommend this as a stop for provisions or to have a meal. And if my word isn't enough, there were plenty of locals using the shop and restaurant, that speaks for it self. You'll find it out of Courtenay, heading towards Campbell River on the highway 19a.
