What Alexs C doesn't like about Captain Whidbey Inn:
I was so excited to try their restaurant and have a nice meal, but it was incredibly disappointing. The mussels and clams, although fresh, were in a bland watery broth. So mediocre! You can get awesome mussels in Coupeville and I would expect the Captain Whidbey to be on par (or better! than that. The scallops were delicious but I did not realize that the word risotto was in quotes...it tasted like trail mix, honestl... View all feedback.
We celebrated our anniversary at the restaurant and the service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. Low key, outdoor setting overlooking the water. Simply a perfect evening.
Phenomenal! Food was amazing. Service was more amazing. Atmosphere so great. Fun unique place to go to and have a wonderful evening…truly a treasure on Whidbey Island..

We had the steak, scallop risotto, dungeness crab mac cheese, and fish chips. All of them were very good. And we had a very nice view of Penn Cove as well. We plan to go back again.
