We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was fantastic with a full menu of vegetarian and vegan options that were both tasty and beautifully presented. The staff provided friendly and top-notch service that we couldn't fault. The total bill for 3 two-course meals and 4 drinks came to £85, which we thought was very reasonable. View all feedback.
What stratoszero doesn't like about The Wok Inn:
Disappointing from the word go. Food served by a scruffy looking English bloke in a flat cap and denims. Not very authentic. Very slow for food to come out sporadically (it wasn 't very busy), and the food itself was exceptionally bland with really cheap ingredients but not cheaply priced, in fact as soon as we saw the menu we were dreading the final bill but were trapped in a family birthday type scenario we couldnt... I placed an order for collection at 18:40, but it's now 19:50 and I still haven't received any updates. The website said the average wait time is 20 minutes, but it can be longer on weekends. I checked my email, texts, and the app I used to order, but all I saw was a confirmation of my order without any further information. After waiting over an hour without any updates, I called the restaurant and was met with rude and unhelpful customer service. The person I spoke to seemed annoyed that I was asking for an update and told me my order should have been in my spam folder, which it wasn't. They then proceeded to complain to a colleague about me asking for an update. The customer service was appalling, and they told me I could come get my order now, insinuating that the food might not be fresh anymore. I would not recommend calling this restaurant as the service is terrible even if you do manage to get through.
This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we traveled 25 miles in the hopes of finding a good Chinese takeaway as the ones near us are not great. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst takeaway we have ever had, without exaggeration. The food was tasteless, overly oily, and the chips were extremely hard, as if they had been reheated multiple times. If they cannot even prepare fresh chips properly, that says a lot about the quality of their food. Our advice is to stay away from this place at all costs.
Orderd delivery last night which was pretty quick ,but the food itself was awful . We had 2 special fried rice and 1 special foo yung. The rice was dry as sticks and totally tasteless , it contained chewy tough dark beef , dry char su pork and a weird textured chicken and loads if peas no prawns ??? The foo yung was really salty and greasy totally inedible really really disappointing over all . And expensive over 25£ for 3 dishes that ended up in the bin .
Ordered takeaway for the third time. I always get the vegan munch box and did again today, with extra vegetable chow mien and sweet sour sauce. Unfortunately, due to new staff I was accidentally sent egg fried rice but as soon as I messaged them, they rang me back. They are also quick to answer questions via instagram. Can’t wait to order again.
