What JTH62 doesn't like about Park Head Country:
We chose to have Sunday lunch at the Park Head Hotel with a group of 6 adults and 2 children. The ordering process was chaotic, even though the waitress entered all of our orders on a tablet. Unfortunately, 3 of the orders came out incorrect and 2 of the desserts were wrong, resulting in 4 meals going cold while the kitchen prepared new ones. The quality and size of the Sunday dinner were only average, with just 3 sm... View all feedback.
On the whole a lovely Sunday lunch. Child’s portion was a good size. Roast pork and lamb were both lovely, nice Yorkshire and gravy. Malbec was very nice but nearly £10 for a large glass. Waiter was very polite and helpful. One thing that needs improvement was the broccoli cheese which was very hard and I would say raw. Starter of chicken terrine had a small piece of bone and a large piece of gristle in it which should have been removed if it was made on site. A few small things to work on but I would definitely return for another Sunday roast.
Called in for Sunday roast. On the whole the food was good, however it could have been served hotter as most items were lukewarm. Broccoli cheese was unfortunately very undercooked, almost raw in fact, which made it impossible to get a knife into. Kids dessert of pancakes with Nutella was poor. They were cold and dry, straight out of a packet with two small packets of Nutella. My granddaughter found them inedible. We did point this out to a member of staff who said he would notify the chef, however we were still charged for them. My daughter and myself had the Sunday roast minus the meat but were charged the same as the meat eaters. Ordinarily a price adjustment is made in allowance for a ‘meatless’ Sunday roast, well that has been the case in my previous experiences. The staff were pleasant but could do with further customer service training. My daughter ordered a glass of Chardonnay but immediately changed her mind and asked for a glass of rosé instead, however she received a glass of Chardonnay. The refurbishment of the restaurant is very nice, it is bright and roomy. Could do with some background music playing whilst people are dining. A few tweaks in the kitchen, restaurant and the staff would make all the difference to the diners experience, as it is almost there !
The restaurant is fantastic, with delicious food and attentive and friendly staff. The recently renovated surroundings are lovely, and the seating is comfortable. The Sunday lunch was delicious, with gravy that was not the typical store-bought kind. The dessert was delightful, all at a very reasonable price.
Very nice Sunday lunch for me and the family and the staff where excellent, Hotel receptionist should us around the rooms which for the price are very good.
