Contribute FeedbackAt Nicey Icey, customer experiences appear to be a rollercoaster of delight and disappointment. While some patrons rave about the delicious ice cream, particularly the nostalgic sugar cornet 99 topped with rich strawberry sauce, others recount encounters marred by rude staff behavior. Dismay abounds over a lack of dairy-free options and inattentive service, tarnishing the overall experience for many who simply seek a friendly treat. Despite the tempting flavors, the unfriendly atmosphere has led several customers to seek sweeter experiences elsewhere. Consistency in service quality might be the key for Nicey Icey to reclaim its loyal clientele.
We took my husband's mother, who is in a care home and has dementia, out for the day. We stopped at a restaurant for a drink and ice cream. I asked if they could provide a small glass of milk, like they have for their milkshakes. Unfortunately, they did not have any milk, so we tried the cafe next door, who also did not have any milk for milky coffee or lattes. Despite this, we stayed and bought an ice cream. When my mother-in-law spilled her ice cream and got it on her hands, I asked the staff at the counter for a wet paper towel or cloth. The older staff member responded in a sarcastic and rude manner, making it seem like my request was unreasonable. While I understand that they didn't have milk on their menu, the issue was more about their disrespectful attitude towards customers.
The ice cream shop is charming and has a variety of flavors to choose from. The outdoor seating area is clean and inviting. The young lady serving at the counter was pleasant, but unfortunately, the experience was dampened by the unhelpful attitude of another staff member. It's disappointing that this overshadowed what could have been a truly enjoyable snack.
This ice cream shop appears to be a promising spot. However, I decided to leave without ordering after witnessing one of the counter staff being extremely rude and aggressive towards an elderly gentleman who seemed confused by the variety of flavors. It was disheartening to see him treated in such a way. I have no intention of returning to this place.
Four adults and one dairy intolerant child. As they had no dairy free ice-cream, we asked if we could have a little sorbet on a teaspoon for the child to try. A categoric (bordering on rude), no. We went next door to the Pancake kitchen. You lost custom Nicey Icey, mostly locals too.
“Iced’ coffee NO! If you can’t serve iced coffee that isn’t even cold- Don’t advertise it. “That’s the way it comes out of the machine” from a disinterested staff isn’t good enough. Obviously year and a half of no business hasn’t improved customer service.
