Morrisons In-store Cafe - County Durham

The breakfast at this restaurant is good and reasonably priced. However, my wife, who has celiac disease, had to carefully select options in order to have a gluten-free meal. It is disappointing that a store with a good selection of free-from and gluten-free foods cannot offer a gluten-free meal in its cafe.

The prices at this restaurant are reasonable. I had a small breakfast which was good value for the money. The sausage and fried egg were delicious and cooked perfectly. The tomato was fresh, but the bacon was a little lacking. The toast and butter were included in the price of 4.50. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future.

When we sat down, another staff member came to our table and mentioned that she had trouble finding us because we didn't have our number displayed, which was fair enough, but her tone was not very polite. The bacon was still fatty and not cooked well, the breakfast was alright but nothing special. The fried egg was overcooked and the food was barely warm. Overall, I would not choose to dine here again.

I only stopped by for a dessert for my dad while I was nearby. I was disappointed to find that they were out of the cream caramel twin that I was hoping to get, but everything else in the restaurant seemed well-stocked, clean, and airy, which was nice on a hot day. I ended up trying some very tasty English strawberries that were delicious, red, and juicy. Overall, it was not a wasted visit.

The staff at this restaurant were lovely and incredibly helpful. They only stocked high-quality products, such as the delicious Styleton cheese that you can usually only find at Morrisons.
