Nestled along the scenic coastline, Clean Bean offers a trendy yet cozy dining experience characterized by a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. While the menu features a variety of options catering to dietary needs, including vegan and gluten-free selections, some patrons noted inconsistencies in flavor and ingredient execution. The establishment shines with its commitment to clean eating, offering fresh dishes that appeal to health-conscious diners. Although certain items lacked depth, the quality of food was generally praised. With picturesque views and a pleasant vibe, Clean Bean holds promise for an enriching culinary experience with a few improvements.
The waitress was very friendly but forgot the tap water even though it was itemised on the bill. The full English breakfast was lovely however the scrambled eggs on toast was disappointing, it was a single slice of toast which was approx 6cm across we asked for another slice, the second slice was double the size of the first slice. But scrambled eggs on toast was £6 and then we were charged an additional £2 for an extra slice of toast which we paid but thought unreasonable.
Delicious food, friendly and swift service; will be back for more tasty dishes. Great location with easy parking. Little gem in Seaham.
Visited multiple times in a week with my partner (I come from Seaham, she comes from Italy, we both live in Frankfurt currently) who lives with Celiac disease, as well as friends and family with their own dietary needs. Each time was a pleasure! She managed to have a Sunday Lunch , Ramen, Lincolnshire sausages, and so many other things which have not been available to her before, and adored the food, loves the place and atmosphere, and sincerely truly appreciated the staff, and owners. The food was top tier in terms of quality, portions, flavour and ingenuity some of these foods aren 't easily available, or have poor gluten free alternatives elsewhere, this was not the case here, everything was delicious, full of flavour, personal touches and expertise, and most importantly, incredible care is taken with every customer, regardless of their needs or wants. The building is ideally located in the Seaham sea front street, with free parking directly opposite, and a great view of Seaham 's Tommy statue, as well as the coast and war memorial/garden. It 's warm, with some nice music which never overwhelms, comfortable and rustic, and welcomed my friends with their baby. I can 't recommend the place highly enough, even the hot winter drinks were excellent (I had a few of those mulled wines), and there 's enough space for everyone. The owner served us a few times, and was friendly, thorough and very kind. I cannot praise this place enough for taking the extra steps with gluten free certifications (cross contamination is a great risk) and it 's a wonderful spot to remember when we visit. Just go there, and enjoy.
