Menu says food served till 3pm. I was informed the fryers go off at 1:30 so couldn’t get a bowl of chips. Asked if they had any gluten free non cooked options and that was a no too. Coffee was decent but I felt like they were literally mopping me out of the door at 2pm. If you want to go home at 2, go home at 2. The fish and chips are excellent, the staff is fantastic, and the premises are spotless. What more could you want? Definitely give it a go.
We eat at the Cafe about 3 times per week and the food is fantastic. We love the scampi and chips which we treat ourselves too on a Friday but we've never really had a bad meal here. The Paninis, sandwiches and English breakfasts are all great. The food is always fresh and we've never had to complain about the food or how hot it is when we've ordered take out. Worth a visit.
This restaurant is impeccably clean and well-organized with exceptional staff. If you visit on a Friday, be sure to try the fish and chips - they taste just like they're from a traditional fish and chips shop. A definite must-visit!
This place is a local gem. I go regularly and have never had a bad meal. Fridays are fish and chip day and you will get some of the best fish and chips you will find in the NE for a very modest sum. Staff are superb kind, thoughtful and attentive.
The food is freshly prepared and cooked well, with reasonable prices. The only downside is that some plates are chipped, with mine having 3 noticeable chips. It would be better if replacements were provided. Additionally, it is not a good look to see staff eating while serving customers.
