Very welcoming staff and customers. Stayed for 3 nights for magic weekend the chef was good enough to sort transport out for us to Newcastle and back on both days. Breakfast was delicious and the evening menu was superb. All in all a very enjoyable stay and hopefully going back soon. View all feedback.
What Caitlin Ward doesn't like about Beamish Mary Inn:
The staff are not welcoming and the food is very poor . My beef was so tough and the veg was mush . This used to be one of my favorite places to go but never again View all feedback.
Superb pub experience. Excellent customer service. Steak Ale pie is highly recommended.
Great place where we stayed for 2 nights and we were welcomed so amazingly well by the locals and particularly the staff (aka the self named gobsh*te). The pub has had its challenged and went bust about 10 years ago so it's a work in progress in case you wanted something g special. But they are honest that they need to improve. Food was amazing, rooms tired (which Simon the owner accepts). My only observation is the rooms are not cleaned very well. But that's an easy fix. If you fancy turning up and spending a long evening chatting with the locals about anything you want then this is the place.
Absolutely brilliant place great staff very friendly and welcoming and the best bit was the homemade bread made into the best toast I've ever had compliments to the chef and most definitely the staff
Went for Sunday lunch today if you like good food served well definitely don’t go. The last time we went wS about two years ago when we thoroughly enjoyedit so thought we would go again oh dear beef was inedible heard other customers Complaining service was so slow we went ast 12.30 when there wasn’t any more customers so heaven help the ones who went in later service was appalling said about beef was just brushed off then ordered jam rolly poly pudding took waitress ten minutes to come back and tell us there wAs t any so I changed my order to syrupPudding and custard when I had my first spoonful knew it was ginger pudding the complete meal was a farce couldn’t wait to leave will never go back again .
Although the interior of this pub/restaurant is a little tired (hence the 4 star rating) the food is delicious and very filling. Portions are generous to say the least and I have yet to try the dessert menu for the reason that we are always full! The staff are always friendly and helpful and on chilly days, the is a wonderful open fire.
