New Year’s Eve 2018. Great night. Excellent food as always and the balance between eating, drinking and partying was struck really well. Great DJ got the party going from 10pm and with the help of some like minded partygoers we saw the new year in with a bang. Have to give a special mention to the Côte de Boeuf! Charcoal on the outside but pink in the middle. Perfect. Can’t wait for the next visit. View all feedback.
What CarolynB doesn't like about The Wild Duck:
This charming country pub with a cozy atmosphere and open fire is really delightful. It would be great if they offered accommodations as well, as they mentioned they have plans to do so in 2019. The food was delicious, albeit a bit expensive. It's a pity they don't serve Merlot by the glass, but the Malbec I had was just as enjoyable. I would definitely return again. View all feedback.
The English cuisine at this restaurant is excellent, especially when enjoyed in lovely weather.

Helpful and friendly staff, great ambience atmosphere for country get together with our cousins from the city! All that would be pointless without super food; spot on skinny fries and light crispy batter on fish, simple tastes can be the most difficult to get right but we all enjoyed a lovely lunch without getting stung by silly pricing. We'll be getting together again here next time!

Nice place but we visited on a cold day and and if you weren’t seated directly in front of the open fire it was chilly in the restaurant . Also some of the food needed to be hotter than served. And I totally disagree with the service charge, on our bill it was £30 thank goodness it was discretionary the service certainly didn’t live up to that high charge. That should be removed entirely and left at the customers discretion. Kind of changed the mood of the lunch which was a shame.
