Contribute FeedbackOverall, The Swan received mixed reviews after its recent reopening. Some diners were disappointed with the lackluster atmosphere and overpriced, underwhelming food. Others enjoyed the excellent service and modern decor, although missing the cozy pub feel. The surroundings were praised as beautiful, with friendly staff, crispy mushrooms, and delicious fish cakes. Issues with food quality and service were noted, but loyal patrons were pleased with a lovely anniversary dinner. Despite some hiccups, The Swan seems to have potential to win over customers with its chic ambiance and attentive staff.
The service at this restaurant was excellent from beginning to end. The staff were welcoming, warm, and attentive. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the kitchen and one of the main dishes was missed. Despite this, the staff were apologetic and removed the meal from the bill, handling the situation well. However, I must comment on the quality of the roast. The prices charged (£20 for veggie, £24 for beef) did not match the quality of the meal. The portions were small, with limited vegetables and overcooked Yorkshire puddings. The overall meal was bland and unremarkable. While the service was excellent, the food did not meet our expectations. We may return for drinks in the future, but the dining experience was disappointing.
The food at this pub is cooked to an exceptional standard. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are welcoming and attentive. This place is a hidden treasure!
We had a wonderful dining experience at The Swan for our 54th wedding anniversary. The service was excellent and the roast we ordered was delicious. The additional items we requested were promptly brought to our table without any inconvenience.
Really delicious Sunday roast. The vegetables were particularly imaginative and lovely accompaniments
Excellent food and great service, cannot fault that. Used to have a really friendly local pub feel to it. This is history. If you like a modern curated 'Cotswold ' feel then it is now your place. For me however, it is now a bit too done.
