always a pleasure to see in and in jenny the shalom. beautiful caffe ran by beautiful people, always met with a warm welcome, and always up on my list when in bourton on the water for a coffee cake View all feedback.
The drinks were served promptly, and there was a short wait for our food. When our meals arrived, they were piping hot and delicious, particularly the paninis and sandwiches. When it was time to leave, we found a wooden box to leave our donation in. This unique concept was new to us, but apparently, the cafe has been operating this way for over 10 years, suggesting that it works well. The staff were all friendly and polite, adding to the pleasant dining experience. I would definitely consider returning to this cafe the next time I visit Bourton on the Water. It is worth noting that, as mentioned by another reviewer, the cafe pauses at 12 o'clock each day for the Lord's prayer.
This restaurant operates on a pay-what-you-want basis, which is quite rare. During a coach trip with three other coaches, we struggled to find a place to dine until we stumbled upon this hidden gem on a side street. The food was delicious, and we all left satisfied. In addition to the great meal, I also purchased some Christian items from the shop. It felt like a divine calling to dine at this establishment.
Shalom is an unusual place. You order drinks, cakes etc and sit and eat, as you expect from a cafe, but then you pay what you feel it was worth. Apparently it works too, with very few taking advantage. Refreshingly different. Nice book shop next door too
Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome during our visit today. I enjoyed a wonderful panini and salad, my son loved his homemade tomato and red pepper soup and toast and friend her BLT. The homemade cakes and ice cream finished our meals off nicely. We would definitely return if we hopefully return to Bourton. Such a wonderful idea and we were so relaxed and loved the feel of the shop and cafe.
Lovely Christian book gift shop, something for all ages some interesting reads. Friendly service they even have a second hand bookshop just over the road. Small tea room to the rear for a cuppa cake.
