We visited this pub while staying at the lovely Blaisdon House nearby. The menu was varied and very enticing. My partner had the hake in Stilton sauce and I had the spring vegetable risotto - both were delicious. The chef really knows how to cook! Really lovely place, lovely staff! Had the Vegetable soup to start it was absolutely stunning.. the best I’ve had then a beef lunch which was amazing more than enough with the sides of cauliflower cheese, cabbage, peas and carrots. Will definitely visiting again...
We went for a lunch 7 of us and were so disappointed! The portion sizes are ridiculously small, the veg was barely cooked and meat overcooked. The man behind the bar was rude. And to top things off half of our table was sat on...
This is a lovely pub restaurant in a beautiful location, the menu has a nice mix of items,. The staff are friendly and amenable and very attentive. The food was really nice with the steaks cooked to perfection, deserts are very filling. Recommended food.
Had lunch here today, very pleasant, Jessie, the waitress/ barmaid was very friendly, helpful and efficient, the food was good, fish pie contained loads of fish, slow roast pork belly also plentiful. Wood burner made for a cosy welcome, dining room a little chilly but...
Went for lunch on a Saturday, pub has wood fire in the bar area but not in the restaurant. Food was alright. Service was a bit intermittent. Wouldn’t hurry back.
