We decided to splurge and order the Tasting Menu with the Sommelier chosen 6 wine tastings. What was really interesting to us was the Sommelier, herself, was helping serve. So we were able to visit with her and learn more about the wines and menu pairings. View all feedback.
What RoteFuchs doesn't like about Mulberry:
Mulberry is the fine dining restaurant of the Manor House Hotel. It is a nice and cozy restaurant with smiling friendly staff but the food can unfortunately in no way be considered gourmet. We were a group of seven ordering different causes and no one came away feeling that they had just had a culinary experience. It more felt like this was just another average meal in a restaurant that is slightly better than averag... View all feedback.
Here with a large group and couldn't have been more impressed with all staff. Food was excellent, fresh and well-prepared. Service was exceptional. Nick was on the run taking care of everything with style and accuracy. Even took our picture! Really appreciated his hard work throughout the evening.
Had Sunday lunch today, beef was good, tortellini was a bit thick. Both meals average to good but the prices are high and 12.5 percent service charge is ridiculous.
Stayed at hotel dined 2 nights first night very good second awful. Lively staffexcellent customer service but food strangely poles apart on the 2 nights. Had cornish stone bass and chessboard first night both very good. Ordered slow cooked beef second night very disappointed no taste very dry tiny portion ridiculous for the price! Cocktails very good most expensive if my trip but that is expected in a 4 star hotel.
We are local and went for a meal tonight for our anniversary. We used to love going to the Mulberry restaurant for special occasions as it was a great fine dining experience and amazing food.... Not so any more! Fullers have taken it over and it's now just over priced pub food that isn't good quality at all. The wine list is also massively overpriced with cheap quality wines. The decor had changed for the worse and no carpet or table clothes any more. Basically save your money and eat in the Black Bear instead.... Similar experience now but the Black Bear is much better value for money! So disappointed!
We stayed at hotel and ate here during our stay. The service was impeccable and the actual restaurant was very nice and cosy. The food was on another level, we were served warm bread and butter first followed by a main, my main consisted of a short rib of beef with aerated mushroom domes and cooked onion. I had a side of mash potato which was extra but well worth it. The beef was melt in your mouth and absolutely delicious. For sweet I had a sticky toffee pudding which was the very best I have ever had, it was wonderfully light with a sweet toffee sauce topped with a spoonful of ice cream. A truly epic pudding. It was fairly pricey but you did get what you paid for. My only gripe was the addition of 10% for service which I think should be a choice not already added to your bill. Though this was my only complaint.
