We had seen the reviews so we went and the staff not friendly and no choice of.cake and the menus where on the wall so you had to stand near other people so we left and went somewhere else
Have been many times for many years and always a lovely day out . Lovely teas and cakes and meals light and mains. A delightful garden at the back but also you can sit outside front or back in most weathers. I've brought many friends and family here over the years for birthdays and just a day trip. Plenty to see in the delightful village. Come see for yourself.
We both had the savoury afternoon tea. Only customers in there so atmosphere was non-existent. Nice to see tablecloths on tables but a shame that where we sat still had remnants of crumbs from a previous diner. The savoury tea consisted of one sandwich with your choice of one filling, other places generally offer a selection of fillings cut into fingers. This one filling was cut into 3 fingers with no crusts. Also a slither of quiche, not sure what the flavour was as it never stated on the menu. This was served warm. Wished we had been given the choice as I would have preferred it cold. The third item was a cheese scone with onion marmalade and cream cheese. My pot of tea (3 cups worth) was nice. Partner does not drink tea so had a cup of coffee. Unfairly he was only given one. Was it worth £15.95 a head? Not really. The photo has 2 fingers removed but see for yourself. I would suggest about £11-£12 per head would be more appropriate.
