Contribute FeedbackBeagles Bar and Restaurant in the Cotswolds offers a mixed dining experience. While some found the food to be disappointing, overpriced, and inconsistent in quality, others appreciated the outstanding service, particularly in the bar area. The restaurant ambiance was praised, especially by those who enjoyed the cocktails. Despite some issues with reservations, those who were able to dine in the restaurant had positive experiences with helpful staff. While the prices may not reflect the overall dining experience for some, others found it to be the best meal of their Cotswolds trip.
Absolutely recommend getting drinks at this bar. Enjoy them sitting in the bar with the bartenders or outside on the patios...The guys working here are fantastic.
We have been using Beagles Brasserie for many years for family occasions. Today we visited for a belated Mothers Day lunch. What a disappointment. There was no Lunch menu available and the Al a Carte lunch was very expensive. Even that would have been acceptable if the food had been good however it was extremely disappointing. The menu is pretentious using products that most people have to Google. That would be acceptable if the taste was good. Regrettably it wasn’t. Has any one ever has a Welsh Rarebit that was predominately brisket and looked like something the cat had regurgitated. The only decent thing on the Menu was good old fish chips but even then the chef felt it necessary to mess with the tartare sauce and peas In defence of the culinary skills of the Chef I am advised that ‘Apple’ was delicious. Regrettably we will never return.
We waited a long time to receive our food. My friend ordered fish and chips, which appeared as though the chips had been sitting out for a while before being thrown onto the plate with overcooked fish on top. We had requested twice cooked chips, but they were soggy and lukewarm. I ordered the pork chop, which was tough and mostly fat, with only one piece of pork and a small serving of apple sauce. The chips were served in a separate bowl, but were still soggy. The total cost of the meal, including dessert, came to £37 each. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Unfortunately, I am unable to give a positive rating.
Initially we weren't able to get a table here because of a wedding, however we were able to be accommodated later in the evening. This was easily the best meal of our break in the Cotswolds, in terms of the quality of food, setting and service. It wasn't the cheapest but you definitely get what you pay for here.
I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. It wasn't very crowded, with only 3 tables occupied. The staff was very friendly, but the food was just okay, nothing exceptional. My only complaint is that it took at least 30 minutes from finishing my starter to having it cleared away. This might be due to understaffing. We spent £140 on 2 starters, a main dish, and a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, Morton in Marsh seems to be lacking an affordable and outstanding dining option.
