We called in to the magic bean cafe after reading the reviews on trip advisor but I was a little disappointed, there seemed to be done refurbishment work underw... read more We called in to the magic bean cafe after reading the reviews on trip advisor but I was a little disappointed, there seemed to be done refurbishment work underway and the outside eating areas seemed to have been added in hast, due to the rain...they were water lodged with rain pipes pouring next to us while we eat. Once completed the refurb will be lovely I’m sure, we had to walk this way back due to the water and it looked amazing. The food is out of this world! and really affordable. In summer with refurbishment completed I’d recommend booking in advance, with a garden tidy this will be a wonderful, affordable afternoon out for a young family.

The... read more As a family with two young children, we absolutely love Magic Beans and also really enjoyed visiting the play area when it was last open (Hocus Pocus Play). The cafe itself has lots of toys and colouring sheets available to keep the children amused while...you are waiting for food, and the food is delicious! The children's menu has lots of choice and my kids especially love the children's pancakes with fruit and yogurt and also the nibbles platter with various fruit and veggies and dip. The sandwiches are delicious made with fresh thickly sliced bread (favourite is bacon brie and cranberry) and are very filling. The staff are super helpful, welcoming and great with kids and the entire experience is very family-friendly. Hocus Pocus play is a small but perfectly formed area ideally suited to babies, toddlers and pre-school children, with lots of sensory play and areas to spark their imagination. It's not a big soft-play frame so may not be suited to older very active children. We have attended several parties here and my little one had his birthday here and they have been wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The outside area is also lovely in warm weather with more things to amuse the children. Can't wait to drop in now that they are open again and try out the new menu the sundaes and Pippins donuts look amazing! :
