What CompJax doesn't like about Garden Terrace:
Went to the cafe for a quick lunch, good to be able to park freely and wander in to the cafe. The system for ordering is laborious and protracted, there seemed to be a lot of energy wasted by staff just flitting around and not... View all feedback.
An excellent variety of coffees, teas, hot chocolate plus pastries and sandwiches in a lovely location. The terrace overlooks the nursery and is a lovely location for a tea and pastry (or a coffee if you wish)
We regularly visit the café at Batsford for breakfast as we have an annual arboretum pass. We reckon their bacon brioche baps £5.50) are excellent. On this occasion, we had a vegan with us and she was offered the halloumi and avocado bap as a vegan option £8.50) .She very much enjoyed it. Apart, from that not much on the menu was suitable for vegans and it would be good if they could improve their offering and make it clearer on the menus. The coffees were of the usual high standard and service at the self-service counter was pleasant. I do think offering customers the option to tip at a self-service restaurant is unnecessary as I would hope staff are paid a fair and reasonable wage in the first place.
Really nice food! Had fantastic hoisin salmon and noodles for lunch earlier in the week so returned today for breakfast
There was a good variety of cakes and they were of a really good portion, and the sandwiches, although limited flavours, were good and chunky. Good value for money
Called in for a cup of tea and sandwich which was very tasty. The hot food looked nice but on this occasion did not sample it. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff.
