Contribute FeedbackDining at this local eatery offers a unique culinary experience, especially with its innovative plancha cooking method. While some guests rave about the delicious, beautifully plated meals and generous portions, others express frustration with service delays and dish presentations. Guests noted that the menu’s explanations were lacking, leaving some disappointed—especially regarding special birthday acknowledgments. Though drinks like margaritas received mixed reviews, the fresh ingredients shine through in many dishes. Overall, mixed service experiences and menu inconsistencies could overshadow the promising flavors, leaving diners with hope for improvement on future visits.
I highly recommend booking the Plancha room for dinner. It is quite entertaining and the service is spectacular! From bartenders, servers and chefs you will not regret to choose this restaurant for any special occasion. The Choriqueso Verde appetizer was delicious and the Mango 43 mixed drink is a unique winner. I'm looking forward to visiting Descanso again!
We came here at 3/4. celebrating our party's birthday. We stayed in the OC Fair Event Center area for a work event and made a reservation for Plancha restaurants. It was our first visit. We all loved our experience. The food was great. The experience was great and it was a great place to celebrate birthdays. I was understandable because it was my choice, but all LOVED their food. It is an upscale craftsman Mexican restaurant that is not your local hole in the wall. The pork dish seemed all the favorite! The service was excellent, the showmanship of the cook was great and the food was really great. My husband thanked me during the meal to get this place. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Descanso was definitely another kind of food, or should I say a new experience for me. We went for LA Plancha dinner, which is a multi-course menu for you cooked at the table. You start with a soup or salad, fried rice and your duck. I chose the Rock Steak, my mother had the Chile Relleno and my grandmother had Pollo Maya. I also had the Gurke y Sal margarita. Every dish had so much taste, I can't wait to go back. Steak was beautiful and juicy. I had them with a slice of boiled cheese that just melted on the steak. It was amazing. The employees from the beginning to the end were very attentive. If you want a great experience for your money, it is worth it. Check out their website for weekly specials. You even have Taco Tuesdays.
I went to this restaurant with a group of ladies to celebrate my friends birthday at one of the cooking tables. The service was outstanding and the server was very attentive. The chef created quite a performance for us while he cooked our food. It?s definitely an entertainment experience. I ordered Chile Riano and it was delicious
Delicious, high quality, unique Mexican food experience. We ordered the chips and salsa, the Al pastor alambres with a side of rice and fried beans. Everything was delicious! The alambres are basically like ordering fajitas but better, because they have fried cheese on top. We also ordered a spicy Paloma cocktail, which was amazing too. Service was great, too. Summer could tell it was our first time, and helped us navigate the menu. She explained everything and helped us make a good choice.
