I had... read more Gina's Cafe in Cosby, MO is a charming little spot in a small town of under 200 residents, boasting a hidden gem for fried chicken, especially on Mondays. I had heard great things about it but had never visited until tonight when I went to support a fundraiser for a local theater group. The chicken was outstanding – the breast was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. The green beans with bacon were delightful, and the mashed potatoes with gravy were simply excellent. My daughter and I both thought it was very good, and we agreed that we should bring the rest of the family back for another visit.

The cake was hard as a rock and the cherries was nothing more than can cherry pie filling. The server was great. One little scoop of ice cream for a buck fifty was a little much. What happened to the fried chicken buffet that was outstanding. Just a plain chocolate cake with cherrys would have been ten times better. The server and chicken earned the three stars

We were so eager to eat that we forgot to take pictures of our meal, but I can confidently say it's the best fried chicken we've had in a long time. The dinner rolls are incredible – they just melt in your mouth. The prices are very reasonable given the quality and portion sizes. My husband was also pleased to find that they offer beer, wine, and cocktails. We're already looking forward to our next visit on Monday, which is the only day they're open!

On the bright side, the chicken was fresh and tasty. I also tried the chocolate Black Forest cake with cherries, but I was let down; the cake was extremely hard, and the cherries tasted like they were straight from a can—more reminiscent of pie filling than anything else. On a positive note, the server provided excellent service. However, I felt it was a bit too much to pay a dollar fifty for a tiny scoop of ice cream. I really miss the fantastic fried chicken buffet they used to have. Honestly, a simple chocolate cake with cherries would have been much better. Considering the chicken and the great service, I would give this place three stars.
