Was in Corvallis for medical reasons and needed a breakfast place this morning. After some online searching and asking a local, we ended up at this place. We couldn't have found a better place. Quirky, bountiful, and delicious! Just a half mile from Oregon State University, it represents the school and city in an extremely positive light. You won't be disappointed with the food or the ambiance. We showed up at 7:30am... View all feedback.
What Lijhe doesn't like about Wisecracks Cafe:
Wait staff are always pleasant and the food comes adequately quickly even when it 's busy. I find their food to be above average quality but pretty dry when I see cheese in the description, I 'm looking for more than a meager sprinkling of grated cheese. Loud and there are often lines. The Motherload keeps me coming back. Closest to proper southern biscuits and gravy breakfast available in town...
I’m not one to leave a negative review but this place was disappointing. The service was fine and it’s a cute restaurant but their food was subpar and they tried to hide the fact that their produce was rotting. They also had creamer on each table and ours was crusting and gunked up at the spout. We won’t be going back.
I saw someone said of them, Best Breakfast on Earth. That 's true. My wife and I would add, Best people on Earth to that too. We had a wonderful experience and a delicious breakfast there. We 're sure you 'll find the same.
Wisecracks is a cute cafe in downtown Corvallis. The biscuits are awesome. I have been here twice now and the service has been great! Employees are cheerful and attentive. Made my morning honestly. Chicken fried steak and the corned beef and hash both were great! I recommend!
I walked and waited a few for someone to come take me to a table. No hello, just, “only 1?”. I asked how his day was and he did reply in a friendly manner. He sat me at the bar by the kitchen. Makes sense as it was only me. I was given a breakfast menu (it was 12:30) and he went to get me some water. I asked for a lunch menu and he kindly obliged . The waitress, not as friendly, took my order. No hello or how are you. I could understand if they were busy, but they only had two other tables. When my food arrived it looked great . But it was deceiving. The grilled chicken in my sandwich was way over cooked and completely dry. The brioche bin they used was great, until the juices from the condiments, tomato and pickles made a soggy mess. While I was eating, one of the waitresses had gathered some menus and brought them to the counter I was eating at. Instead of putting them on the counter, she slapped them down on the counter creating a nice breeze a foot from my face. I looked up, but she put her back to me and walked off. Another waitress came over and gave me the bill. She didn’t even ask if everything was good. I put cash on the bill and she took it away, then yelled from the register, “No Change?” I should of said yes, but I gave them a 20%tip anyways. There are lots of great places to eat in Corvallis, so skipping this place would be no big loss.
