Squirrels Tavern offers a calm and peaceful ambiance that attracts a more mature crowd, especially locals and graduate students. Their beer selection is extensive and well-curated. I usually go for the cheeseburger when the kitchen is open, but I’ve heard excellent feedback about other dishes as well. The food at this restaurant is excellent, but the bar service can leave something to be desired at times. The atmosphere is pleasant, and I particularly like that they usually have Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap.

I travel around 48 miles from Springfield just to savor lunch and a cold beer at this place. The beer is always served ice-cold, and I've sampled their cheeseburger, cheesesteak sandwich, and patty melt—each dish, especially when paired with tater tots and their delicious fry sauce, creates a perfect meal. The staff is consistently friendly, and Krista is an absolute gem; her smile truly enhances the atmosphere. If you haven't had the chance to visit Squirrels Tavern yet, I highly recommend you do to experience the great food and ambiance for yourself!
Local bar tavern with delicious crispy tater tots! I love their ranch dressing. Dinner was salmon over rice with salad on the side. Unfortunately the rice was burnt shouldn’t have been served. Casual atmosphere, little short staffed, but overall a great place to hang out. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
May 6th 2023 stopped for lunch was completely ignored do not know why got up to leave one of the waitresses waved goodbye with a smirk we were completely confused will never go there again
