What User doesn't like about Portole:
This spot is charming in an olde worlde way. Staff (only two it seemed) were very pleasant, and the restaurant was pretty quiet. Pizzas at the weekend only. We had a light dinner. The pizza selection was more limited than we expected based on places in Cortona. Basically if you like quattro stagioni you'll be satisfied. Pasta ragu was very good. The food at Ristorante Portole is made fresh daily and is perfect in every way. We have been in Cortona area for 2 weeks and have eaten at Franco's 3 times. It is never crowded as it is about 15 minutes outside of Cortona, but worth the short drive. The views down the valley are fantastic and there is always a window seat available.
