Not particularly welcoming. If the service and attitude of the staff were matched by the great building and stunning location it would be a wonderful place to stay unfortunately poles apart.The dining experience of a set menu was not an enjoyable event. They saved our lives! Could not find lunch on our way to Glasgow found the castle. Brilliant lunch of Celiac soup charcuterie . Lovely stop, thank you Service: 5 Location: 5
Quite expensive , but we were prepared to indulge ourselves for such a special treat. Not so special though when the fire alarm goes off on two of the three nights of our stay. Standing outside in our nightwear in the middle of the night is not such a treat. Particularly when all you get is a ‘sorry for the inconvenience’ First night we thought ok these things happen. Two nights in a row unacceptable
