Located at the Hilton Hotel Coronado, this place overlooks the beach on one end and the pool on the other. Perfect for a lunch or early dinner (last able to seat at 6pm). Came at 5pm for a beautiful sunset dinner.Service was quick and staff friendly. Self seat, and they come quickly to bring you a menu and water. By far their Loaded Hoisin French Fries Appetizer was the best. Nice flavor blend with crunchy and well flavored fries and with Asian bbq chicken. We also loved their Togarashi Crusted Ahi Tuna- light but great flavor. Our main dishes were just okay- got their Pork Bibimbap (very standard), and their Double del Cheeseburger (also very standard) which for the price point wasn't exciting. Overall given their AMAZING apps, great service and views, would highly recommend this place. Maybe just try different main courses
We ordered the Del Double Burger along with some French fries. The burgers were fantastic, but can we take a moment to talk about the fries? They were honestly the best fries I’ve ever had in my life. No joke.
The Sun Deck at Hotel Del is an excellent spot for a laid-back meal while taking in the stunning sunset over Coronado Island. Situated above the Hotel Del Pool, it offers a fantastic location with gorgeous views of the beach, coast, and sunset. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, perfect for unwinding. The menu features light bites with a predominantly American flair, and the drinks are quite good. Although service can be a bit slow during busy weekends, the staff is friendly and works hard to serve you as quickly as they can.
It was a chilly evening but the sun deck has heaters and fire pits throughout. We had the salmon wedge salad, mahi mahi fish sandwich and double burger plus drinks. Food is excellent but very pricey. However, the 4/5 stars is because they don’t/can’t offer hot drinks here, so nothing to take the chill or end the meal with.
If you are going to serve expensive wine, serve it in a glass, not a disposable college-quality plastic cup. The marketing imagery has people drinking from regular glasses, so why would I have even thought that my wine would have been served in a clear solo cup? When I asked the bartender Rob why he didn 't tell me BEFORE he poured me a glass, he apologized I 'm sorry we don 't have glasses . I explained that I would have ordered the cheapest wine on the menu if I knew otherwise. It comes down to food and beverage. Serve it right. There are more than enough safety-wine glasses on the market. The Del should invest in some of those. Also the bartenders continue to complain and cuss (with a whisper voice though) how busy it is.
