On our second night, we decided to return to Mistral instead of heading to Coronado. Our host greeted us like old friends this time, and we continued our chat. We both chose the Wagyu tri-tip, which was served with green beans and was both delicate and tasty. I paired my meal with a glass of Orfila Benign Neglected Syrah, a perfect match for the dish. What User doesn't like about Mistral At Loews Coronado Bay Resort:
Finally, the waiter presented us with a fixed menu that consisted entirely of vegetarian options. The restaurant's website had not mentioned a fixed menu, and we had planned to order from the standard menu. Strike four. We were eventually offered the regular fixed menu with only two choices, neither of which sounded appealing. Always an elegant dining spot with breathtaking views of the harbor.
For dessert, I had raspberry cheesecake with raspberry sorbet, while my partner opted for plain vanilla ice cream. The cheesecake was light and creamy—just the right size after the hearty meal. We enjoyed two wonderful dinners and would definitely return if we find ourselves back at the hotel.

The restaurant's website had not mentioned a fixed menu, and we had planned to order from the standard menu. Strike four. We were eventually offered the regular fixed menu with only two choices, neither of which sounded appealing. To top it off, everyone at the table was required to choose either the three-course or five-course meal without any option to customize. What a hassle! Strike five, and we decided to leave. We will never return to this restaurant again.
For christmas with elder and friend. did not know that it was a prefix menu, but the menu had enough to offer. eating is very good, and they have taken special diets. the service was good. but that's expensive. but would certainly go back.
Has Christmas evening fixed dinner . Within an hour of arriving back to our hotel, we were both sick. It was either the salad or the soup. Our main waiter did a pretty good job of checking on other tables around us, and for the most part ignoring us. The rest of the serving staff was very good. I resent having a mandatory 18% gratuity added to the check when one of the servers deserved a lot less, and getting sick later didn 't help me feel better about the 18%.
