Boba Star - Corona

Terrible service. We have been going here for a couple of years and the employees are usually friendly and we haven't had a problem before. But today my partner and I went and the cashier heard a different drink than we actually ordered. We didn't realize until we saw the drink. We told them it was the wrong drink and we ordered Matcha. It would not have been a problem for us if they just gave us the right drink. However, the cashier and one other employee proceeded to argue about how we should have corrected the cashier if we heard her say the wrong drink. Obviously we didn't hear her say the wrong drink. There were loud kids, cashier was wearing a mask, and there is plexiglass between the cashier and customer. They argued a couple of more times until finally agreeing to make the correct drink. I couldn't believe it. Again, usually no issue but to be treated so poorly at an establishment was perplexing.

I have come here a few times now, and I have to say that this is phenomenal. First and foremost, the staff here was exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, patient, and kind every time I have come in. Unlike a lot of other boba shops, they actually use fresh Tapioca, instead of premade/frozen ones, and it makes a huge difference. Their attention to quality and fresh ingredients puts this boba shop in the top tier of boba shops I have been to, rivaling many of those found in places like Rowland heights. Best boba shop in Riverside county and it's not even close.

The high reviews caught my eye so my husband and I had to try out the place since we were in the area. We were pretty disappointed though. The drinks tasted very artificial like the canned drinks at the Asian market. Unfortunately this is how most boba places where they use cheap tea and flavored syrup. The best boba places we been to use higher quality tea that are earthy and use actual fruits or fruit purée. I wager the people that enjoys these drinks and find this to be an authentic boba/tea shop are the ones that think Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food.

I love this place! It’s a cute little boba spot. So many flavors and additions to choose from. And it’s a lot cheaper than other boba spots nearby. I got the horchata frappe and it tasted just like horchata. My only complaint is my son’s drink and my drink were a little too sweet. They had a lot of flavor and the quality was great. I just wish it didn’t have so much sugar. I didn’t see any options to adjust sweetness levels like you can at other places.
