That was our first time we tried this restaurant. Their weight was about an hour during the busy season, but they have a decent call-for-system where you can go around the local area until your table is ready. The seat above has a great view and it is very breezy. The mixed drinks were good and the salads were also good. Bartender was cheerful, Was looking for a place for a good burger, I asked for a different kind of cheese and for it to be made medium rare. Waited a while for it to come out but I was okay with that given the situation these days when it came out thetemperature was more medium Well-done than rare. Bartender never came back over to ask me how it was or if there was anythingelse that she can do. Burger did come out with good taste, Even though the temperature was wrong. Took a while to get the checkand the pay, she didn't seem that busy that I couldn't get a little bit more attention...,.
This place was okay. Our party of 9 was seated relatively quickly and appetizers came out pretty fast as well options for vegetarians available. However, our entrees took an extremely long time to come out, and our server provided no updates on whenwe?d get our food as he seemed pretty distracted by some of his female coworkers. Although we were seated at 730pm, we didn?tget our entrees until 9pm (closing time). Most of us ordered the fish of the day which cost us $32 each and it was prettyunderwhelming. Cuts of fish were tiny, some of the rice was undercooked, and the portion was very small. We were done by 9:10.Maybe smaller parties have more success but I personally wouldn?t recommend this place.
Nothing short of 5 stares here! Outdoor dining upstairs on the deck on a perfect night. We each had a delicious beverage to start along with an appetizer to share. Best fried green tomatoes we?ve ever had! Then dinner?.Southern Seafood Boil servedover grits was excellent. Very tasty but not heavy. The shrimp and scallop dish over pesto pasta was also a great choice. Noroom for dessert but we brought home the key lime pie for later. Wow! Thanks Upside for a wonderful Dinner and great servicefrom Veronica. She was able to describe each item we ordered and answered all our questions.

First and foremost, the atmosphere at Upside is fantastic, with a great playlist setting the mood. The staff is both friendly and hardworking. The food is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. If Upside isn't on your Corolla bucket list yet, it definitely should be. Our server Matt today was fantastic. Very kind and attentive! This place has the absolute best house-made Caesar dressing that I've ever had! I've been talking about it all day! The strawberry basil lemonade on the cocktail menu was also fabulous! Will make this place a staple for our families annual trip!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
High end food in Corolla. The absolute best calamari I’ve ever had. Hush puppies are amazing. All dishes are prepared with super fresh food. They also have daily drink specialties that are made with fresh ingredients. Excellent location with a nice bar to relax while waiting for a table. Service is top notch, very attentive staff. Smaller location so plan ahead for a group. They don’t take reservations so we stood in line about 15 minutes before opening with a few beers from the bar next door.
The idea of a rooftop restaurant is always a positive; and from my time in OBX I can definitely say that this feels more upscale/fancy than some of the other spots in Corolla. The view is really nice; unless you are looking into the building, but no fault at them that isn't really something that is controllable. The issue for the low review has to be that this place, or at least the chef made my feel unwelcome with the incident that happened. For people with allergies, I may suggest just not attending the restaurant and looking elsewhere. It comes down to the fact that I have very severe and selective food allergies. I was informed the fish of the day was halibut, and that while they had seared tuna they prepared the tuna in the same boil that had my allergen in it; making that impossible to have. I requested a safe bet salad with the fish of the day. Ordered and waited. When the food came out it was Tuna, I could not have that and requested the food be remade and with the halibut. According to our waitress, the chef said the fish of the day is only for that meal; could not be put on the salad. Even for an allergy and willing to pay extra, chef said no. I have never been told at a restaurant, especially from the chef, that they cannot work around my allergy. Making a separate piece of fish shouldn't be an issue; but it was. The place does get packed fast as well. More a heads up to fellow potential guest we got there about 5 minutes after opening and it was packed. The rest of my family seemed to enjoy their meal to an extent; it was definitely ruined by all them eating while I had to wait for a salad to be remade though.
We really enjoyed the Upside restaurant, the food was delicious. We enjoyed some drinks at the bar while we waited on a table. It is a pretty small dining area but the view outside is beautiful. The fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, and lobster quesadilla were delicious appetizers. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

We decided to to go dinner here after shopping at Timbuck II, I am so glad we did. The food was PHENOMENAL! My husband got the daily special, it was the Honey Bourbon Pork Chop, I got the Scallops and Shrimp with Pesto Pappardelle, both meals 10/10! I got a mixed drink too, it was delicious. Service was great as well!!

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at the restaurant. The dishes were expertly prepared, including the pork chop, scallops, and snapper. The beer on tap was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive. We would definitely return!
Overall experience was just ok. Our group of 4 waited for over an hour. This is fine and we expected it during summer months. We received a text that our table was ready. We walked over from a nearby bar where we were waiting and when we got there they didn’t want to seat us outside which was requested. They said in the time it took us to walk over they gave it away. After discussion they agreed to seat us outside at one of the still open tables. Aside from this, the food was average and drinks were good. Don’t think I’ll go back.
We discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant! The food was amazing—everything is prepared fresh by a highly skilled chef! The waitstaff was friendly and energetic! I highly recommend it!!
The food was cold, there was no atmosphere, and the service charge felt overpriced. In our group of eight, four people ended up returning their meals.
We went for a drink before dinner at another restaurant close by, we ended up staying and had a Fantastic experience, from the drinks through the apps to the meals we were very satisfied! Thx Cal and the Upside Restaurant!

We tried the tofu tacos that were 100% vegan and gluten-free at this restaurant. Our server, Matt, mentioned they also offer a delicious vegan dinner option. It was the only option available, but it was so tasty!

We ordered the hush puppies, southern boil, and chef's selection (flat iron risotto) and everything was fantastic! Our waiter was very attentive and made sure our date night was a success. We will definitely be coming back!
Six of us had lunch today. We had wedge salad, fruit and nut salad, chicken sandwich and burgers. We all loved our meals. Service was excellent. We will be back
We ended up at the Upside Restaurant after being jerked around by a neighboring restaurant, and we are so glad ! Cal the upstairs bar was fantastic (he ended up serving us on the deck) , the food was great! Our Apps. were the Hush puppies, Chicken Flautas and the Lobster-Crab Quesadilla , For Dinner we had 2 the Fish (Tile) of the day platters and 2 Of the Southern Boil's- all excellent! Thx again Upside!

Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere outside with party lights. Food, not so much. Expensive and quality varied a lot. Fish that was special of the day was supposedly snapper, but it was so overdone that who could tell? Coconut rice did not complement well. Came with some cucumber slices, but they were shaved thin and there were maybe seven of them. Salmon was okay, but just okay. Veggie pasta had very few vegetables and looked like it was made with Velveeta. Calamari was good. Hushpuppies were good, but pricey. Forget the three dip thing as an appetizer. Wine at $11/glass was a very short pour. $12 martinis had virtually no impact at all (supposedly measured, but did they water it down? , and waiter asked about an extra olive without mentioning that they would be $2 extra, so don't order one $14 martini. Add shrimp to a salad for and extra $9? Plan on spending $2.25/shrimp because there were 4, although they were nice, but the Upside salad left a lot to be desired. Seemed like the best things ordered at our table at a beach side restaurant were the pork chop, the chicken tenders, and the beef sliders. Be sure to look at the check because if you have a large party as we did, the gratuity is included. And that is fine and quite typical, but pay attention. We had eleven at the table and granted we had several drinks, but our bill was just shy or $600. Look around before you settle on this spot.
I?ve been here twice (once for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch experience was great- affordable, delicious! However, the dinner experience? I waited 20 mins for them to open at 5:30. It was first come first serve which is a bit inconvenient but it worked out for me and my friends. We sat down outdoors and took a look at the menu? shocked. There were only 10 or 11 options on the menu that were actually food (not including dessert or drinks. we ordered the calamari, and although it was a hefty $18, the chefs were not generous with the food- a small plate with only 10 calamari pieces. I guess it was good but not worth it. The rest of the food was mediocre- but for the prices we paid for and the amount of time we had to wait it was definitely not worth it. After 1 hour of sitting there. Only one group of people got their entrees. They also changed some items I liked on the menu which was disappointing. The only great thing was the kind waiter we had who kept us supplied with lots of water in this hot weather! Thank you for the kind staff. Otherwise will not come again. Disappointed about removing most of the stuff I like off the menus.
