visited here recently for an evening meal. the burger and the pommes ordered. fries were beautiful, unfortunately the burgers were very moderate. for this type of price they would expect a better quality bark. I was suspicious when I ordered when I asked to be my medium cooked. this question was met with a confused star and nervous smile. the burger was well done. yet it was eating edible. drinking was good. they wer... After a recommendation a table for a family dinner was booked but was unfortunately very disappointed. the service was exceptionally slow, tables that came after us had their starter and main course before our starters arrived. we waited 40 minutes for our starter and another hour for our main course. our table was served by a waitress who was on her first layer, and we feel she was released. we asked what happened to our main course and after 50 minutes we said that they would be another 10 minutes and that our meal times were delayed as we had eaten! also we had to let the tables clear between the curses. we were then offered free drinks that took 20 minutes to arrive. that was in order, but not exceptional. when we got the bill, the free drinks were included in the bill. that was removed.
Staff were all super friendly even though it was pretty busy. Food was good and came out fast would really recommend
We went to the unicorn to celebrate my friend’s birthday The food was delicious and the service excellent despite the place being really busy Thank you Unicorn and I can’t wait to come back
Who, in this day and age, deems it necessary to charge extra for side dishes? Had we not done this, the Mackerel we ordered would have arrived as just that, a Mackerel on an otherwise bare plate. Yet, if we had ordered one of the...Specials, a side would have been thrown in??? Baffling. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids with 4 alcoholic drinks cost £103 which was a tad OTT, especially given that they had ran out of all ketchup and mayo (though we were offered bbq sauce to go with the Mackerel, Caesar salad and kids burgers Overall, this was adequate but very over-priced, as the food was Harvester-level fare. Delusions of grandeur. Big time.
