Contribute FeedbackThe recent reopening of a beloved restaurant evokes mixed feelings. While some diners praise the inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious meals, others express disappointment about the inconsistencies in food quality and a chaotic booking system. Highlights include the fantastic steak and ale pie, flavorful roast dinners, and generous portions. However, undercooked beef and lackluster prawn dishes dampen the experience for some. A limited selection of beverages and a dreary snug space also contribute to a sense of missed potential. Overall, the restaurant shows promise but requires improvements to fully win over its loyal patrons.
The pub was very inviting with friendly and attentive staff, and the food was fantastic! We tried the steak and ale pie, which was packed full of steak and delicious. Our waiter also recommended the dirty nachos, which were a hit!
We were fortunate to snag a table for six, including our furry friend, at this restaurant on Sunday without making a reservation. The carvery was enjoyable, although we weren't sure if there was a vegetarian option available. We had the choice of beef or pork, with generous portions served by friendly staff.
My family of eight recently enjoyed the best homemade roast dinner at this restaurant. The staff was lovely and the roast was delicious.
Been coming here for years so was excited to see it reopen. Emailed to book Sunday lunch, was instructed in a reply to book via Facebook, I did and the booking was confirmed. Turned up to find no table for us but we could sit in the dank room of gloom I mean snug. The food was ok, crispy spuds and yorkshires, sweet red cabbage and parsnips and tasty gravy, but the beef was so undercooked (I’m ok with pink) that you couldn’t get a knife through it, made me feel queasy, so that went home for the dog. Was desperate to love the new Travellers but there’s improvements needed. We were in and out in 20 mins snug was just dreary. They need a proper booking system, approachable staff and cook your beef!!! I miss the brilliant Trav’s Tribe!!!
Lovely friendly pub, went, on holiday as family of 5 and 2 dogs) went back twice, possibly the best Sunday roast carvery we've ever had! Definitely recommend
