Having driven past this pub literally hundreds of times over 40 years, we decided to remedy that situation, and were really glad we did. A traditional village inn built on different levels, friendly service and locals, and great beer brewed in the village. Clean and tidy and clearly well-run. We were here for drinks only so didn't check out the menu, but food which was being served to other guests looked delicious. W... View all feedback.
What Cornflake50 doesn't like about The Stag Hunt Inn:
We had booked a table for 6.30pm to try the home cooked Indian food that the Indian landlady makes. It does get booked up so it best to do this though you may be lucky and find a table on spec. My lamb Kai Ki... View all feedback.
Atmospheric pub, food deserves a special mention, best pub food we have had in a long time. Prepared and presented to restaurant standards by Carmen, we wanted to thank her personally because we were so impressed.
Decided not to cook tonight, went to The Stag Hunt instead. As always welcomed with a friendly smile! The food, drink and company was superb! Would recommend everytime.
Haven't been in the Stag for a while as the food and service used to be somewhat lacking, but now it under new ownership and wow what a difference. The food is amazing and far surpasses your normal pub fare. Been in a few times with friends and solo and quite honestly this is some of the best food in the area. Simple menu but this to me speaks volumes as you only need to do a few things well, and it's not just done well it's 5 star. All local produce, the beer is literally rolled up the hill from the local brewery, and kitchen ingredients all locally sourced. Very excited to be working my way through the menu over the coming months, and have already decided what I am having on my next visit, big thumbs up from me.
Lovely pub with a Nice atmosphere and good friendly locals up for a bit of rugby banter Luverly food and very comfortable Well worth a trip for a Cornish ratler or cream tea or a Cornish mivi
Went in the Stag Hunt to kill half hour while a couple looked at the cottage we had for sale. Been here before, though when it was under old management, and had a couple of meals. Very nice, cosy, and inspiring. Under new management now, though still that same charisma, and met the new owners. Lovely couple, I 'm a bit of a chatterbox, but they were accommodative and really nice to chat to. Had a look at the menu and it was good. I 'm a vegan, and there were good options for me, and everyone else, have yet to try it but I 'm sure it 's satisfying. Good luck guys, as Arnie would say, I 'll be back.
