Really enjoyed the outdoor offer of thirst quenching drinks to take in the falmouth ambience with views of the waters. Staff extremely friendly and covid sensitive. I presume the Vineyard is a pop up that may not be permanently there but excellent choice of beers from local breweries. Sorry to read a 1 star review and hear you had to put up with ignorant selfish individuals who clearly feel above governmental advice... View all feedback.
What DevonPaul doesn't like about The Grapes Alehouse Kitchen:
Popped in for a drink and instantly had a feel this place felt more like a social club than a real pub. Was ok for a drink but bar staff seemed more interested in chatting to mates the other side of the bar rather than collecting the countless empty glasses scattered around most of the vacant tables. In the hospitality trade you need to be on the ball with these kind of details. Not amazing but would probably pop in... View all feedback.
The most miserable bar staff I have ever encountered , off hand unpleasant and generally unwelcoming to
This used to be many years ago the pub where everybody went on a night out. Still relatively popular mainly with the older generation this pub has wonderful views out over Carrick Roads. The pub is more of the traditional variety with oak beam ceilings and lots a memorabilia associated with the sea and sailing. The bar is well stocked with various beers, lagers and spirits all being reasonably priced. They often show live sports that are mainly football and rugby. Overall not a bad pub to stop for one or two beverages as you trawl through the town. There are better venues but there are also a lot worse.
Doesn 't look like people are using this site to do much in the way of reviewing but I thought I 'd add one in as it was so nice. Beautiful looking pub from the outside, absolutely over flowing with flowers, they have clearly gone to great effort. The pub inside is recently done up but still in keeping with the age of the place with wooden beams and lots of original features. View over the harbour is stunning and really makes the place! We tried to get everything as 'cornish ' as possible and weren 't disappointed, local ale, local cider, fresh Cornish fish and hand cut chips (Cornish potatoes we were told! a real winner, everything delicious and the staff very friendly. Check it out!
I have never wrote a review but after visiting this pub I felt the need. I called yesterday with four members of my family looking for home cooked hearty pub grub meal The pub was very dirty and the tables were very sticky like they had not been washed properly. After ordering four cokes we noticed there was a very strange after taste so they had to be left. My partner and myself ordered the beef and ale pie. As someone who loves food and was absolutely starving after a few mouthfuls I had to leave it. The pie had no taste at all even after adding mass amounts of salt and pepper. The vegetables were under cooked and the chips were cold. I ordered a child's sausage and mash off the specials board for my eight month old. When it was presented the mash had gone yellow and dry like it had been warmed up and then left, the beans came in a separate dish but you could tell by the thickness and no juice that they had been warmed up several times. The bill came to over £40 and must I say it totally spoilt the last day after 2 wonderful weeks in Cornwall
This is a pub that sells drinks not food. I can only comment on a pint of Tribute being £3.35 at weekends and £3.15 on weekdays (dynamic pricing). A great pint at an amazing price being almost £2 cheaper than where I live!! The pub also shows a lot of sport having 5 or more massive TVs dotted about. Always good to find such a venue. A few tables have a good view of the harbour but most don’t There is also a pool table
