We used to visit here a lot and ended up avoiding the place as the wait for food (breakfast early) was always ages but this last 6 months the service has improved vastly. Food is delivered quickly, with a friendly smile and I am made to feel welcome. Well cooked and fairly priced I recommend this cafe. They also do lovely cheese scones. View all feedback.
What rodburris doesn't like about Sainsbury's:
We are not Sainsbury shoppers, its not convenient at home. But we enjoyed this store as a change, finding things not seen commonly though in some departments, the range was limited. My wife liked to clothing where she found some bargains and we even bought replacement phones, not a usual holiday shopping item. Recommended are the made to order pizzas. Loads of parking, easy to find. There is also a café but we never... View all feedback.
Had breakfast here twice and an evening meal, in the the two days we wre staying in Cornwall. Good choice of food and reasonably priced. Staff all very friendly.
Nearly always have a bit of a wait to get served, don't know why but there always seems to be just one person at the counter who takes your order. Takes payment and then makes whatever drink you order. This tends to cause a queue of people waiting to be served. I don't know why this store can't have one person taking orders and another making the drinks. This would speed things up for customers.
We decided to stop by this restaurant for a casual and budget-friendly breakfast for two, simply because we didn't feel like cooking. The prices were reasonable for the decent food, and the hot breakfast was tasty, saving me the hassle of cooking myself. However, most of the tables were dirty and we had to clean them with napkins. We were told there would be a 15-minute wait for food, but it actually took 25 minutes. Some other customers had complained and were offered a free hot drink, but we weren't offered a refill on our coffees. We also ordered two pastries to snack on while we waited, but one of them was stale. The staff didn't check in to see if everything was okay when serving our breakfast, and left our empty cups and half-eaten pastries on the table. Lastly, my husband ordered extra mushrooms and hash browns, but his breakfast was missing the hash brown even though we paid for it. The staff were friendly and probably just understaffed that day, but we wouldn't choose to return.
I visited this restaurant on a rainy day for breakfast. The food quality was not great and it was served lukewarm. If you're looking for a meal, I recommend going to the Lizard Regent Cafe instead.
We once again opted to dine at this restaurant as an alternative to eating at Flambards. It's only a 5-minute walk away and offers a much better selection of food at lower prices.
