I had seen a few negative reviews, but wanted to make up my own mind so had a meal here last night. My wife and I chose the superfood salad topped with chicken whilst my daughter had the fish and chips which she thought was excellent. To be honest the service was a little chaotic due to them being a member of staff down in the kitchen and front of house. However, Beth was an absolute star and tried so hard to please... What FalMtt doesn't like about Red River Inn:
First time visiting for a year or so and the place has had some money spent on it not quite as cosy as it used to be. The food prices are obviously set to pay for the refurb! Staff were unhelpful in as much as they didn’t know what the soup of the day was initially or if we could eat in the garden?! Long sweaty queue to order only one person doing everything behind the bar. Food quality was good when it arrived. Will... View all feedback.
This pub was the closest one to my campsite, so it became my go-to spot for the 10 days I was camping. I usually stopped by for a drink in the evenings, enjoying my favorite drinks, Rattler and Lightbulb. I also had meals there twice and found the pub food to be of good quality. The staff was friendly as well.
I made a reservation for Sunday lunch with my family and we were delighted with our first visit to this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was great, and the food was truly delicious. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you Red River Inn for taking care of us and serving us food made with love and care.
We arrived at the restaurant at 4pm on a Sunday during the beginning of half term, unsure if we could get a table for food. Despite being busy and nearing the end of service, the staff asked how many people were in our group. When we mentioned there were 11 of us, instead of turning us away, the team behind the bar checked with the chef to see if they could accommodate us. They quickly prepared the tapas bar (an outbuilding off the beer garden) for us so we could all sit together. The food was amazing! Despite the large group, there was no significant delay between ordering and being served. The Sunday roasts were delicious, with the gravy being a standout. The desserts were also fantastic. The service was friendly and accommodating, and we were pleased with our experience at the Red River. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for being able to accommodate us.
We 've eaten here a couple of times recently and everything about the place is excellent. The front of house service is friendly and the restaurant/bar manager professional and helpful. Two weeks ago we had steak here, which has become an expensive 'treat ' with current food prices. We were delighted with the quality, texture and flavours of the meal and it was worth every penny. Today we had the roast and I have to say it was the best pub roast we 've ever tasted, once again everything was beautifully cooked and fresh tasting. The quality of ingredients and the care which is going into the preparation of the food is really obvious. At the moment, I can 't think of better food to be had in the Hayle area.
We had a lovely roast here on a Sunday in September. Food was lovely, drink was lovely and service was fab. We stayed just up the road in an Airbnb so nipped down here in the rain one evening. They had an extensive range of rum and gin that I love and my partner worked his way through the types of cider! I had pork belly and was great and my partner had roast beef. Plenty of food for the price.
