While some patrons rave about the friendly service and delicious food, others lament disappointing meals, including watery gravies and poorly executed dishes. Despite a promising menu and occasional culinary gems, inconsistencies in food quality and service have emerged, particularly during busy times. Recent changes in ownership have sparked renewed optimism among some diners, praising the extensive menu and special deals. However, for others, past glories remain tantalizingly out of reach. Overall, this local spot continues to elicit a range of responses, warranting caution for prospective visitors.
With all honesty, I have to say that this Sunday lunch was one of the worst I've had. It was very disappointing, especially the gravy which was just warm brown water. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but I would not choose to have Sunday lunch here again.
Popped into the Plume of Feathers, as had passed it several times when leaving the A30. The staff were very welcoming, and provided an efficient table service. Menu had a good selection of dishes, and the food was of a great quality and was good value for money.
After two pubs not serving food on Monday's and one pub closed we found this one and had a very good pub supper at an extremely good price! Welcoming and friendly staff ....worth the search. .... thank you!
Came here for Sunday lunch with my partner and 3 children not a planned visit and certainly not disappointed. Although it was quiet, food was good and service excellent. A lovely old fashioned country pub.
Visiting from the USA. The staff (were very accommodating to our toddler, assisted with late night meal options and offered friendly advice on beers.
