My husband and I Stopped here for a last minute late lunch. What a delight yummy crab sarnies and prawn sarnies, with a choice of bread. There was a good selection of other sandwiches and delights on the menu. We were able to sit outside to...enjoy the sunshine. Service was really good and the staff were on the ball for clearing tables A very enjoyable lunch break View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pier Cafe:
Don't be fooled by the location. The food is **** and greatly overpriced. They even charge for sachets of ketchup???? What a disappointment, as it is so well located, and has massive potential. View all feedback.
We dined at this restaurant twice - once for lunch (sandwich) and once for breakfast. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. The full English breakfast was delightful.
The restaurant is conveniently located and offers fast, friendly service. Although we only had drinks and ice cream, the food looked delicious. We plan on returning while we are in the area.
I visited the Pier Cafe last year in 2023. At that time, the waitresses would take your orders at the table, and I got friendly with one of the young women who worked there. She was lovely to talk to and I went back there quite a lot for eats and drinks, as the food is actually quite tasty. However this year the atmosphere seemed different. You now have to go to the counter to be served as well, which admittedly i wasn 't too bothered about. In fact it is not even my main complaint.!. But then one day a few weeks back, one of the waitresses became very 'curt ' with me when she saw me looking through the window of the cafe. I was just checking to see if the inside cafe was open or not. She seemed rather annoyed though and told me to go round the other side to be served. But instead i just walked awayl. Authoritarian just doesn 't appeal to me, not since I left school in the 70s anyway. I went back again today a few weeks later and the same person was working there. She saw me but said nothing. However, her expression said it all! I no longer felt welcome there!. So I bought a quick drink, downed it as fast as I could and got out of there. Judging by the reviews, many of which are positive, it seems that the staff who work there either like you, or they don 't. Maybe they just don 't like me: not anymore anyway! Regardless, I no longer felt welcome in the way I once did. I don 't suppose I will find that other lovely waitress I saw who made me feel valued as a customer. In any case, unless there is a complete turnover of staff, I shall not be using the place again. As they have enough customers, it won 't be any skin off their nose. I wish them all the best for the future.
Popped in here for a couple of lattes, now don’t get me wrong they were not rude to me as I would have told them but the older lady rude to customers and constantly rolling her eyes, your in hospitality put you big pants on suck it up and just be polite, also if you don’t want people queuing at the side door don’t have an arrow pointing at it
A lovely find! Excellent prices, really lovely sandwiches and great service. Great location right by the beach. Really enjoyed the crab sandwich
