Morrish’s Fish and Chip Shop offers a blend of experiences that vary widely among diners. While some guests rave about the fresh, traditional fish and chips and attentive service, others express disappointment over limited menu options for those with dietary restrictions like gluten intolerance and vegetarianism. Complaints about a dysfunctional online ordering system and inconsistent portion sizes have also surfaced. Despite these issues, the restaurant remains a popular choice, especially among those traveling to Cornwall, thanks to its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Nevertheless, improvements in menu diversity and service efficiency could enhance the experience further.

Was Paul B at Morrish's Fish a mag?
Been a few times I also go in July when we holiday in cornwall. Staff are really friendly, food is lovely and just the right portion size. What's also great is they allow dogs, as long as the well behaved and not causing a problem Looking forward to going back View all feedback.

What lesleycV1072FP dislikes about Morrish's Fish:
We used to frequent Morrishes often and always enjoyed it, but it seems like they are now focusing more on catering to tourists, as they have priced out locals with their fish and chips costing nearly £16.00 if you dine in. Perhaps they believe they are on the same level as Rick Stein? This is disappointing to us, and we will not be visiting Morrishes in the near future as there are other fish restaurants that offer... Chips very dry no taste. Even with salt and vinegar. Add no taste. This is a shame . As I was looking forward to them . But not again

I wanted to take my extended family, who were visiting Cornwall, to a nice fish and chip shop before their long drive home. I have recently had to go gluten free and luckily have not had to miss out on get togethers with my friends as I found out Morrish’s had some very nice gluten free options. However, last night I found out that they have had to stop offering this due to various reasons and sadly their whole menu appeared to be more limited for vegetarian/vegan options which they also used to offer. I know you go to a fish restaurant primarily for fish and chips but there are a lot more people choosing either a plant based diet or have food intolerances who would still like to go for meals with family who enjoy fish and chips. My family felt very guilty about eating when there was nothing on the menu I could have but I insisted that they ordered. To be fair they enjoyed their meals but if you are gluten free and visiting Cornwall I can recommend Mariners in Penryn and Port and Starboard in Indian Queens for very good gluten free options. For locals I have seen that Darren’s in Redruth offer gluten free but isn’t a restaurant but I’ll be popping in to give it a try.

I had previously left a similar review and was promised a change, but unfortunately, nothing has improved. The food is still just average, but the main issue remains with the online ordering service. It seems that the service has been dysfunctional for quite some time. I placed an order this evening for a 6:00 to 6:05 slot, but by 6:10, I had to give up and walk in to find my order was not ready. I ended up leaving with my order at 6:15. It would be best to acknowledge that the current system is not effective and consider discontinuing it.

Tonight, I sent my son to pick up a large order of fries as a side dish to accompany our chicken dinner. I was surprised to see what he came back with (photo attached) and questioned how this could be considered a large portion of fries worth £4.20.
