Contribute FeedbackHotel Meudon offers a picturesque setting, but opinions on its dining experience are mixed. While some guests laud the exceptional quality and presentation of dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, others report issues with service, pricing, and food quality. Complaints include inattentive staff, long waits for food and drinks, and disappointing desserts. Despite some negative experiences, including high prices and lackluster portions, the friendly staff and enjoyable ambiance have encouraged several guests to return. Ultimately, Hotel Meudon is a place with potential, yet diners may want to manage expectations based on personal experiences.
Hotel in nice grounds but the Restaurant is expensive and not great portions. We paid £24 for child's chicken and chips with an elderflower drink. My puddy seemed half the size of others. Staff were friendly though. Will not be returning again.
Valentine's birthday treat. We had to wait two hours for our food, so our first course was at 9.50 pm, with another 20-minute wait for the main course, awful food, obvious by then, and so on ...... It seems our experience was verified by a member of staff and unique to us, but learning that didn't and doesn't, enable us to feel less humiliated by the experience.
Attracted by the signs from the SW Coast path offering all sorts of food and drink I walked up to the hotel and was greeted with what seemed to be mild surprise that someone would actually drop in. Service was painfully slow and trying to forestall this when the food eventually arrived (a salad so not complex cooking) I asked them to bring the bill. Maybe 20-30 minutes later no sign of anyone so I went back to reception rang the bell and asked to pay at the desk as I'd waited long enough but apparently that wasn't possible so I went back to the restaurant and paid. I would have declined the 10% service charge but couldn't face the wait for the bill to be reissued.
Six of us had a fresh, tasty and generous afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the beautiful garden. Scones, sandwiches and macaron, brownie all were highlights. Attentive young staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Stayed for ages and walked down to the beach after tea highlight of our lovely holiday on the Lizard.
Couldn’t fault. Came for an afternoon tea with my partner, we were seated outside. For somewhere so beautiful there was such little fuss, just really great service, staff were really personable, the food and cocktails (and champagne) all excellent. Such a peaceful, wonderful atmosphere and unbelievably beautiful grounds for a walk down to the beach afterwards. Will certainly be recommending to friends and family.
