Hellys Tearoom

Went today for a snack. We both had the home made Lasagne and garlic bread!! It was very tasty. The tearoom was small but made up by the friendliness of the staff. Would definitely recommend.

On day we got caught in the rain at Lizard and needed a pick me up, we stopped in Helston to get a cream tea and this definitely hit the spot. They didn 't have any tables but allowed us to wait inside when we could while still abiding to social distancing they sanitised a table so we could just sit for 10 minutes out of the rain. The take away cream tea came with more than enough jam and clotted cream and tasted great. They were really flexible with swapping out actual tea for a different drink too. Only downside was that the hot chocolate with all the toppings really just came with a flake and cream, we couldn 't really count that as all the toppings .

We used to enjoy our trips to Helly's tea room but our last visit was very disapointing . the coffee seemed weak and watery and the bloke behind his daft covid screen was unwelcoming and grumpy . perhaps it was a bad day !!

My family of six (four adults and two children) recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and we were pleased with the quality of the food. The initial welcome was a bit distant, but improved once additional staff members arrived. The restaurant had implemented typical Covid safety measures, however, some were unfamiliar to us and others seemed disorganized. It was odd to only receive one menu for our table of six, especially when they were in wipeable covers and handed out individually. The staff also refused to provide a jug of tap water due to handling concerns, yet they were still serving and handling six individual glasses. Additionally, condiment sachets and napkins were left on the tables, which seemed unsanitary during the pandemic. The restroom was closed for safety reasons, which was a first for us in a cafe setting. Overall, we felt that more consideration could have been given to the Covid safety measures. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the delicious food, although it was a bit expensive.
