Tandoor House - Cornwall

For my father's birthday dinner, we were a group of chefs, and my sister is gluten-free, which can make us a bit difficult to please. However, our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and even provided a gluten-free substitute for naan at no extra charge. He took excellent care of us. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the chicken, while the rest of my family enjoyed the lamb. We savored delicious rice, naan, and our curry dishes. It was an amazing meal, and when I'm in town again, I will definitely be back!

This is undoubtedly the best Indian food in Cornwall. I've dined here twice now, and both experiences have been fantastic. Our server, who I believe was the manager, went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and happy throughout our meal. I have nothing but praise for the food; if you're a fan of Indian cuisine, you won't be disappointed. The decor is a bit lackluster, but once you taste the food, it hardly matters. I've also ordered several times through SkipTheDishes, and the food always arrives hot and fresh. They once forgot an item, but they called me as soon as they could and sent it over right away. The customer service is excellent, although some might find there’s a slight communication barrier when calling. Overall, I highly recommend this place—100%!

I went there for lunch and had a great experience. The waiter was very polite and attentive. I hadn’t tried this type of cuisine before, but we all opted for the buffet. Everything was fantastic—hot and delicious! We made sure to tell the waiter how impressed we were with both the food and the service, and we mentioned that we would definitely come back and recommend this place to others. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the chairs were quite uncomfortable. It’s a small detail, but comfort is important. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

On the good side: The staff was polite, the price was reasonable and the service was quite fast. In the middle: The food was ok, not great, and I have eaten a lot of Indian food in recent years. The bad thing: I ordered Lamb Vindaloo and they brought me chickenmasala when I questioned this, they said that they made a mistake and had no lamb in their defense, they realized that they accidentally brought Masala and not Vindaloo, so they brought me an order from Vindaloo (also chicken) free of charge.

This is my first 2 star..I think. I wanted to start out with what I liked first. When you want in, the dining area is clean and well spaced. We were the only ones on there (party of 4) so I can't really gauge the waitresses attentiveness, but I will note she was very polite and kind. We got our menus and that is when we realized this wasn't going to be great. The restaurant was empty. Not only was there no chatter, but there was no sound except us. This left our table feeling unconfortable. The menus we got were double sided, one with the Indian cuisine and one with Canadian. We got our order ready and when someone at our table wanted something from the Canadian side, we were then told this wasn't allowed. I'm not sure if it's the time of night or not, but we should have been told prior to ordering. The food we got lacked bold flavour, however as I have nothing to compare it to, I didn't take any stars off my review. I can't say I won't go back, but this establishment won't be high on my list.
