The Carriage Room The Glynmill Inn

Wonderful hotel. Has lots of charm and character. Close to downtown for restaurants, and also right on the walking trail, which was very enjoyable. The room we had was a suite and really enjoyed the separate living room. Beds are very comfortable with good quality sheets and pillows. When we come back to Corner Brook, we will definitely book here.

Poor service and food taste.We placed an order and half way through the order the server left. 15 minutes later another server came the manager Alicia this time) and took our order and then we waited 45 more minutes for our chowder to come. Half came out cold and congealed and the other half of the chowders came out steaming hot as if they were microwaved. We also ordered two appetisers which came out at the same time as the chowder. Both were cold. The mussels came out half empty with nothing in the shell and nothing in the bottom of the bowl. The cod tongues came out cold and chewy.No apologies or explanation at the time as to why the order or food was delayed. Others were served and finished before we received our order of soup.Later they told our tour guide that they were having staffing issues.

Staying at the Glynmill Inn with our tour group our party of 6 adults decided to try the lounge for supper sat there for 15 minutes without being acknowledged so then thought we would try the dining room (Carriage House). The service we received there was horrible. First of all we waited a long time before we were able to order and then another 45 minutes for our meal to arrive 6 bowls of soup and 2 appetizers. The mussels were terrible and the soup was inconsistently heated. It was a completely subpar experience. We would definitely not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

Nice, tudor style hotel. It is generally well maintained and clean. I am not sure if the restaurant is (or restaurants are) good, as I have not eaten there. It is also the home of Bay FM (formerly Bay of Islands Radio or BOIR), which is the only independent radio station in the Corner Brook area.

The hotel is a little dated but has great service, is very clean. Nice steakhouse on site and lovely grounds.Rooms: Very comfortable beds and AC available.
