We were on a cruise ship and the lady from the shuttle mentioned there would be a lock here. I do not spoil the surprise, but it is a local tradition and is worth looking for! View all feedback.
My wife and I arrived in Corner Brook on a cruise ship. Our bus dropped us off near the main plaza (near City Hall), and while we were deciding what to do, a local resident mentioned that the local ``Royal Canadian Legion'' hall was offering moose stew. After doing some shopping (see my review on ``Moose Antler Designs'') and touring the local museum, the thought of hot moose stew became very appealing. We were greeted warmly and served about a cup of hot, delicious stew. The perfect lunch for a brisk fall day in Corner Brook. There is a bar and I enjoyed a beer with lunch. As a added plus, there was a very personable singer/guitar player (a retired miner and Cubs fan) who volunteered his time. I am sorry I did not get his name, but he was certainly great to talk with between songs. Eating moose stew, having a beer and listening to songs of Newfoundland made for a very memorable experience. Thanks for making us so welcome!
Stopped for some moose stew and the ceremony of cod kisses and tasting of local hooch
