I'm already a bit here since I came down here, it's one of my favorite places to get drinks, cheap, the atmosphere is beautiful and cool the bartender with the bart and glasses is my favorite, he knows how to make a satisfying long island that I feel the work is done. his music taste is too lol. all together, although all bartenders are good in their jobs, and I never have a bad time here. Authentic Pub... very local, very relaxed, with great service. Really good pub food, even breakfast on the menu. It's nice to be served by someone who actually has knowledge of the beers she has on tap and so on...
Fish tacos are good.... I gave this establishment 2 stars because of food, and this is the only reason I gave them any stars. The overwhelming smell and the feeling of smoke made me almost turn around and go. Normally, I am not disturbed by the smell of smoke and in a bar it is naturally expected to have a smell of smoke, but this place needs a kind of ventilation upgrade or even open a window from time to time. It's the first time my eyes burned out of the lingering smoke. As you comment on other people, this is not the first complaint about the smoke and probably will be the last. My only interest in this place was the food as they had some good comments about the turkey melt, so as a food lover I felt a little determined to go on and taste the food and next time I will get it to go. The turkey melt lived up to the recommendations and if you think that you 've tasted a turkey melt you need to throw all your past experiences from the window and taste this amazing sandwich. The bread has a light flocky crust and a touch of honey perfect compliment of the roasted deli shaved turkey covered with melted cheese keep all ingredients together, add on the fresh honey mustard and you have a mouth watering sandwich that you want more. I don't suggest eating it at Cafe Gecko, as the environment definitely collides with food. Not only the smoke is a problem, but the complicated entrance easily confused as you think you have two restaurants side by side gives you a choice of a clean cafe and a smokey pizza/bar next door, but unfortunately it is all a restaurant and makes you want to rethink your food facility decisions. I accuse the cook as they seem the only reason why this place is still open, with the food I fear this place would not last very long. A last comment, someone can please wipe off the walls and tables I felt like I was in hand sanitary as I went and the explosion of fresh air as I went was refreshing. Remember to enter this place twice, except to get your food and go.
We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food consisting of fish and chips and Irish stew. The BLT was also great. Good food. Good beer. It's a quiet pub and not too loud. Very recommended.
Excellent pub. Fish and chips are great So is the Reuben Go and you will not regret it Great Selection on Irish Beers, Duh
Great fish and chips made with very meaty haddock. I had a Groupon, so decided to try it. I don 't live in the area, but enjoyed it enough that I 'll probably stop in to try the beef stew (would prefer traditional lamb and shepherd 's pie once the weather cools. This neighborhood pub is very quaint with a full sized bar, 4 full sized booths/tables, a few 2 seater tables and a couple of long shelves/bar with stools Games and the requisite dart board. On this Sat. early afternoon, it seemed to be a popular, everyoneknowsyourname kind of hang out.
