We read about this restaurant, which is near Medina Zahara, and six of us went there for lunch. We had one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere. The cooking is extremely delicious and inventive. We shared different dishes, at the suggestion of Ingrid, the cook: the Gambones al kataifi were among the most memorable but it was altogether a wonderful experience. So we went back a week later, again six (only three... View all feedback.
We just happened to be passing by and decided to call in for lunch, without doing our usual research/checking online. My wife ordered meat balls with mash potato and I had the vegetarian savory strudel. Both were obviously prepared and cooked to order and were excellent. We were served by the owner and she happily explained (in perfect English) what each menu item was.Don't be put off by the slightly tired decor and plastic exterior seating, you'll enjoy the food and experience.
Visited this place on a recent trip to Cordoba and could tell it was something special when I saw the owner working on some mini wraps in the bar, who then gave me a passionate description of the process. Seven of us stayed for lunch that afternoon and all agreed it was the best food we had tasted during our trip. The lady who runs it is clearly a very good cook who has a rarely found interest in producing tasty food without making a big thing of it. We shared a range of 'tapas' and followed with a delicious seafood 'paella' made with short noodles (Fideuá?)..excellent.Puddings were good, maybe i little sweet but that seems to be a thing in southern Europe, what a great place though. We were the only people there as it was late afternoon but we were treated like special guests and the atmosphere in the garden makes it work even without other people. Really pleased to have found and it's very near the ruins at Medina Azahara which are also worth a visit. Definitely worth seeking out, probaby no more than twenty minutes from the city and a nice drive.
