Very traditional place in a perfect location. A restaurant not to miss if you want to get a taste of Argentinean culture while in Cordoba. It's all about the live music, the decoration and the atmosphere in general. To get the full experience, order empanadas...and some wine. View all feedback.
What Emma Heredia doesn't like about Alfonsina I:
Five years ago, I visited the place. Nice atmosphere and good tradicional food. The service, sometimes good, sometimes no very good. I thing the place need more attention to cleanliness. Average. Not to bab, no the best ! View all feedback.
Alfonsina was recommended by our hotel. It’s web site said it opened at PM. Not used to eating late, was better than like most of the restaurants, so we decided to try it. We arrived a few minutes after The doors...were open another couple were standing at the open door. We were all told to wait another minutes before they could seat us. We finally were seated. Having had so much steak, we decided to go with their pastas. I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese with cream my husband ordered a kind of pasta primavera. Mine came out with a bunch of chopped meat, on top of ravioli, with a little circle of melted cheese on top of the meat. All was swimming in a puddle of water. There really was no “sauce”, just chopped meat water. My husbands pasta looked like vegetable soup, because his was also swimming in a lot of water. The service was good, but many items on the menu were not available, like most of the wines deserts. Would not recommend this restaurant at all, at least for there pastas their lack of items on the menu. Maybe they do better with meat.

Had lunch. Pizza was huge and can eat comfortably. Waiter was helpful and warned us in advance that pizza Alfonsina would be more than enough for people.

Alfonsina is a typical restaurant in Cordoba. If you can't decide where to eat, you can seat there and for sure you'll have a good meal. They serve typical argentinian food (locro, humita, empanadas), but also some other dishes like pizzas, pasta, meat. Which is...interesting is that you can rent a "mate" and order some homemade "merienda" with nice bread and jams. Cons: Service is very very slow!
