What User doesn't like about Playa:
beautiful looking bar in a beautiful park, but look can fool! the waiter has not recognized us for ever. when he finally took our drink order, we were not given menus and it became clear that he was not interested in serving us. to round it off. I discovered this dirt in my glass when I almost finished my drink. View all feedback.
This was one of the first sit down places I saw walking from the train station to the Cathedral. It looked nice, but clearly something is off with the service in here. Waiter comes by asking what we want without giving us menus. Then he...comes by giving just one menu for two people, like they had a menu shortage in this half empty restaurant. Waiter looked absolutely miserable. Then we get ignored by half a dozen staff walking by and not giving any attention or eye contact. Figured this would take forever and just walked out. Also, cats were walking by my feet in the restaurant.
Not worth the time to complete this review, server was pleasant and attentive the selections were not good so we settled on salad and pizza. The salad was edible the pizza was not.
It had been a hot day of sight seeing and we were looking for a place to eat before our train trip back to Seville. We spotted this place which is nestled in some lovely parkland and decided that it would be a good place...to eat. There were many people outside, in the heat but the only table available to us was inside, where it was a little cooler. The decor inside the restaurant can only be described as old and in need of a good clean and update. The waiter who seated us appeared to have no English and the menu was in Spanish. With a bit of hit and miss we ordered some food and a glass of wine. The service from the waiter was nothing short of appalling and he served us with disinterest and unfriendliness as if we were disturbing his day! We were not sure if the food and wine would be edible but much to our surprise it was amazing. The wine was great, though was it was will remain a secret as it was poored at the bar and the bottle was never shown to us. The first food that arrived at the table was some fresh bread rolls with beautiful fresh tomatoes and olive oil. This was followed by ham and calamari wonderful, great flavours. The food was so good we ordered some coffee. All excellent value for By the time the coffee came another younger waiter had appeared and had some English. He appeared to be happier to attend to our needs. When we left, I made a point of speaking directly to the surly waiter and expressing our pleasure at the wonderful meal we had eaten. He managed a surprised smile!! The food here is great, the service hopeless and it is interesting to see the replies from management to other tripadvisor reviews saying they are always improving'. One wonders how long it takes to improve in Cordoba!
