In terms of square footage, I believe this store is the biggest Asian market in Iowa City. To my knowledge, it is the only one that sometimes has fresh roast duck and (it is rumored) char siu! I only did one quick run through to check it out, but hope to come back soon! View all feedback.
What Theodore Timbrook doesn't like about World Fresh Market:
The owner used to be responsive and helpful, but when I went in the other day, he was yelling and throwing things, basically an adult having a temper tantrum. On top of that, I had to wait an extra hour and a half to pick up my order because he hadn't started it even though he said it was all ready. Totally unprofessional and I will not be going back. The owner used to be attentive and helpful, but when I visited recently, he was yelling and throwing things, essentially behaving like a child throwing a tantrum. To make matters worse, I had to wait an additional hour and a half to pick up my order because he hadn't even started it, despite claiming it was all ready. This is completely unprofessional, and I will not be returning.
The fresh food was stored improperly. I do not recommend this place.
In terms of size, I think this is the largest Asian market in Iowa City. As far as I know, it's the only one that occasionally offers fresh roast duck and, rumor has it, char siu! I only made a brief visit to explore, but I look forward to returning soon!
This restaurant is currently closed. It’s unclear whether it’s permanently shut down or if they are just undergoing extensive renovations.
The prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is well-organized and refined.
