This place is awesome. True authentic! I wish I knew the lady's name who prepared our meal. I wish even more that I could have brought her home with me. I am forever ruined to guacamole. Just returned from Xcalak and had lunch with friends twice at Toby's - great fresh fish where if you hit it right you can actually pick out your own fish. Don't let the looks of the place, which is nothing much, deter you from making the stop. The food is great and the place truly charming.

But HOLY MOLY GUACAMOLE!!! This woman made the absolute best I have ever ever tasted!! I had authentic guac in other places in Mexico but this woman had some magic tough to hers. I could've eaten it for days non-stop. We also had fish and fajitas. Awesome tortillas too!
Very friendly. Great service. Prices are reasonable and food came quickly and was fresh and tasty. Not many options in Xcalak but would definitely recommend Toby's.
Typical restaurant for this region. Bare bones and simple fare focused on seafood. Cheaper than most of the other places in the village.
We stopped in for lunch on Tuesday and were warmly greeted by Toby himself, who led us over to a table under the mangrove trees to hand pick our fresh fish. There were six of us and we shared two rather large fish, one fried and the other steamed. They were both super delicious and more than enough food for all. The price was very reasonable, including beers and wine, ceviche and guacamole, it came out to about $20 each, with tip. We will definitely come back, maybe even this week! Thanks Toby!!
