I was visiting family in Maple Ridge and they absolutely insisted that I must visit this place. I can see the reason why. It was like having a dessert made out of sweet snow with a topping of your choice. We had a Mango Bingsoo and the Cheesecake Bingsoo. Thank God we didn't order the large. There was more than enough for four of us. The desserts just melted in our mouths and weren't too sweet. Overall, the taste and... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Snowy Village:
This place has extremely long wait times. Cramped up space and when you finally get a chance to order..depending on your ethnicity you could be told the machine breaks, or ran out of stuff or would have to wait for another hour and half for the orders..tried twice.. new location can't be an excuse for poor and prejudiced service. Try the Robson Street location instead. Smaller place, but people are treated right. View all feedback.
I have been to Snowy Village multiple times and have tried their mango, green tea, and injeolmi (Korean rice cake) bingsoo as well as their taiyaki! The bingsoo has just the right amount of sweetness and you can taste the milky flavour in each bite...not like regular plain shaved ice! The presentation of the dishes are very photo worthy and the location has simple but cute decor. The place is always crowded whenever I go but you won't have to wait long for a seat as people quickly come and go. There is also a takeout option (only large size bingsoo) that comes in a nice resealable aluminum bag that you can reuse after! Overall, this is a good hangout place when looking for dessert and the price is quite reasonable if you're splitting the bill with others!! Highly recommend the mango bingsoo!

The place was extremely busy but turnover was pretty high so you generally didn't wait too long. And the staff was great and quick.

This is was my first time having the Korean dessert patbingsu and it was definitely a refreshing experience. I would recommend sharing one order as you get a lot even in a small size, my favourite is mango. The shaved ice is so creamy and the fresh mangos add a nice layer of flavour. So much flavour in such a light and refreshing dessert would absolutely go again.
I consider myself something of a shave ice afficionado, from the Hawaiian shave ice most people are familiar with to Japanese kaki-gori to Taiwanese baobing. Snowy Village is a Korean chain specializing in the Korean version bingsoo which is a step above in terms of delicacy--it's not so much ice as it is a child's fantasy of what snow would be in heaven if heaven was made out of dessert. Went with my family tonight, my wife and I had a more traditional green tea bingsoo complete with red bean paste and mochi and it was superb. The kids opted for chocolate bingsoo and that too was a stellar Western variation with whipped cream, rich chocolate sauce and chocolate rocks. This is great stuff. The texture of the Korean snow ice is much more delicate than kaki-gori or Hawaiian shave ice. Same goes for the flavors. I often find ice cream oppressively sweet and the snow ice is not at all. It's just so beautifully refreshing. There are other interesting items on the menu besides snow ice, especially interested in the Japanese tai-yaki next time. Those unfamiliar with snow ice may balk a little at the prices, 8 to 10 dollars for the regular size, but it's actually a pretty generous portion. My kids usually complain about having to share a dessert but they did not at all. So for 18 bucks, my family of four had an awesome awesome time. Highly recommend it, especially to families at all familiar with Asian desserts. If you're not, give it a try anyway, I bet you won't be disappointed. Convenient location on Pinetree around the corner from city hall. I have a feeling we are gonna be regulars here, especially in the summer!
