What User doesn't like about Ricky's Café Coquitlam Centre:
We were welcomed by a friendly server, and our order arrived quickly. We enjoyed the classic bacon and eggs meal, but the Eggs Benedict's Hollandaise sauce was bland and overly runny, so we can't recommend it. When we mentioned this to our server, she took the dish back and brought us scrambled eggs, which we hadn't ordered, and there were no new hash browns provided, yet we were still charged for the meal. During the weekdays, they now offer counter service for those on a tight lunch break, allowing you to get in and out quickly while still enjoying a high-quality meal! The staff is fantastic and the food is outstanding. They will also start offering delivery through Skip the Dishes next week. I love the new concept and will definitely be visiting often!
The restaurant appears to have been recently renovated. It's an above-average spot for breakfast, offering a clean and child-friendly environment. The menu is quite good, and there's plenty of parking available.
We were welcomed by a friendly server, and our order arrived quickly. When we mentioned this to our server, she took the dish back and brought us scrambled eggs, which we hadn't ordered, and there were no new hash browns provided, yet we were still charged for the meal. We also requested hot water but received it cold instead. On a positive note, the restaurant was clean, and they adhered to social distancing guidelines. We hope they can improve their sauce and service presentation in the future.
We (my wife, kids and myself) visited Ricky's Cafe on Boxing Day at lunch time. It was fairly busy but the serving staff was efficient and polite. We ordered a couple of chicken and waffles and also beer-battered fish and chips, plus drinks and 2 decaf coffees, prices were reasonable. Everything was tasty, we really enjoyed the food, but there are a few points that I sincerely wish are improved: 1. The men's washroom was stinky and dirty, also it has a linen waste basket that looks gross. 2. The overall cleanliness of the place could be improved, the table was a little sticky and with a weird smell, as well as the floors. Nothing too bad here but improving it would upgrade the overall experience and give more confidence. 3. We ordered decaf coffees but when we were offered refills the first time we assumed it was also decaf but it wasn't, it really matters since I'm oversensitive to caffeine and its effect affects me for a full day. The second refill I declined and my wife accepted but I had to point out that it was decaf so then the server went to get it. As I said, I really wish these concerns are addressed since I really like their food and having this place right in the mall is so convenient.
Fast Fresh? Sorry guys, 45 minutes to get food to the table is not fast . We came in to get a quick dinner while shopping, and ended up having our kids out way past bedtime because the meal took so long. And the food was not great quality... it was edible, but the burger did not have any seasoning or any attention paid to the way the flavours combine... for an $18 burger, do yourself a favour and go to The Keg or Cactus Club Cafe, where they make chef quality food for the same amount of money. As for the fish chips... skip it. Where it should be light, fluffy and crispy, we found the batter to be dense, spongy, soaked in frying oil, and extremely salty not a very pleasant feeling in the mouth. On the plus side, our server was very personable, friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had all the amenities it needed (high chairs, clean washrooms, etc. , but that will not make up for the mediocre food at gourmet price, and long wait times. We will not be returning.
